Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)

You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to the hotel in Moshi town. This day you will meet your guide who will brief you on your upcoming trip

Arusha town - Lake Manyara National park

Pick up from the hotel after breakfast (around 7:30 AM) and transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. We arrive in time for lunch at the lodge and after lunch we head into the Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon game drive.

The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake.

We suggest to leave the hotel as early as possible so you can see the variety of animals that are only active during the morning hours; breakfast and lunch will be packed in boxes specifically for this purpose. At 6:30 AM you will set off for Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and after about an hour you will be inside the crater.

Ngorongoro is one of the most famous and interesting of Tanzania's national parks because here you can find the greatest number of different animal species per square kilometre. You will have the chance to see buffalo, elephants, lions, wildebeests, zebras, hippopotamus and feline species such as caracals and servals. The luckiest travellers might even see a rhinoceros, an animal whose numbers are rapidly declining.

In the afternoon you will arrive at the lake side, where you will be offered lunchboxes, after which the safari will continue.

Karatu - Tarangire National park - Arusha

For most visitors, the dense elephant population is the main attraction – especially during the dry season, when aggregations of several hundred can be observed at the river. Others are Wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala and hartebeest all cramming into the area during the dry season. Tarangire is the one place in Tanzania where the stately fringe-eared oryx and rubber-necked gerenuk are seen with any regularity. Large carnivores like Lions, and Leopards are less visible than in some national parks. Tarangire’s impressive bird checklist is headed by the endemic ashy starling, rufous-tailed weaver and yellow-throated lovebird, and is also notable for a wide range of raptors.

After this beautiful half day then we are leaving in early afternoon for your transfer back to Moshi / Arusha where you can spend an extra night or drive straight to the JRO Airport to catch your evening departure flight where we will end our African safari adventure
